Overlooked shelf sediment reductive sinks of dissolved rhenium and uranium in the modern ocean

The dataset contains the following information with two Excel files: 1. File named “Hong et al_Tables.xlsx”: Fluxes of 224Ra, DO, NH4+, Re and U, and amplification factors of sediment surface area (ξ) in the East China Sea. Modern oceanic budget of Re and U with the updated shelf sediment sink. 2. File named “Hong et al_Supplementary Tables.xlsx”: The concentrations of Re and U, ancillary parameters (SO42-/Cl ratios, NH4+, NO3-, Fe, Mn, and 224Ra (224RaD) in porewater, as well as total 224Ra (224RaT) and 228Th activities, and total organic carbon (TOC) in the shelf sediments of the East China Sea. Compilation of the Re and U fluxes from globally representative oceanic shelves. The quality control/assurance associated with sample analyses and the concentration gradients of 224Ra, Re, and U involved in the flux estimation.
