PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polyamide fiber that is environmentally friendly and excellent in handleability in the manufacturing process of pulp， has good permeability/impregnation property of a thermosetting resin such as a phenol resin and good adhesiveness， and is capable of obtaining a friction material or the like excellent in strength and durability. SOLUTION: The aromatic polyamide fiber， adhered to the oil solution， has an oil solution including a curable epoxy compound and a polyether compound having a weight average molecular weight of 1，000 to 30，000 as a compatibilizer and having a ratio of the two components of the curable epoxy compound/the polyether compound=10/90 to 90/10 (weight ratio). An aromatic polyamide fiber pulp is produced by fibrillating the aromatic polyamide fiber. SELECTED DRAWING: None
