Dataset: Microhabitat use of smooth newt larvae (Lissotriton vulgaris) in a restored still water body

This dataset contains the data collected during a bachelor's thesis investigating the influence of microhabitat characteristics on the distribution of smooth newt larvae (Lissotriton vulgaris) in a restored still water body. The dataset includes raw box sampling and fish trap data, daily water level records and an area-standardized box sampling data (individuals per square metre) used for the statistical analyses. Area standardization was performed to account for the use of two sampling boxes with different base areas (0.25 m² and 0.19 m²).
