In this study we applied a high-throughput HBV integration sequencing approach to detect viral integration in tumor and not-tumor liver tissue specimens from seven HCC patients. Aims of the study were: 1) characterization of HBV events in human DNA; 2) characterization of breakpoints in HBV genome; 3) definition of the mechanisms leading to HBV integration.
