Upper airway (throat) microbiome (16S rRNA V3-V4) in children with asthma and healthy controls, Suzhou, China

This BioProject contains raw 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing reads generated from upper airway throat swabs collected from school-age children (age >= 6 years) with asthma and age-matched healthy controls at the Children's Hospital of Soochow University in Suzhou, China, from December 2022 to December 2023. Participants include chronic persistent asthma, acute exacerbation asthma, and healthy controls. Sequencing targeted the V3-V4 region and was performed as paired-end reads on an Illumina NovaSeq 6000. The project aims to characterize upper respiratory tract microbiome changes in pediatric asthma and assess associations with spirometry measures.
