Shown is the expression of mKate (red) and GFP (green) from the chiX and chiA loci, respectively, in a representative Z stack of the Serratia marcescens strain delta-chiX::mkate, phi-chiA::gfp (FTG006) overlaid with DIC images of the cells. Cells were grown for 16 hours in rich media, and Z sections spaced by 0.2 µm were acquired using an Olympus x100 1.4 NA lens and CoolSNAPHQ camera. This image shows the coordinated expression from the chiX and chiA loci.
