ECHAM6.1-HAM2.3 climate data to investigate the importance of ice-triggering processes in mixed-phase clouds
收藏资源简介:
This data was used for the analysis done in the study referenced below (Publishing information). The following netcdf-files are produced by the global climate model ECHAM6.1-HAM2.3. The simulations were done for one year (2000) nudged to ERA-Interim reanalysis data with a resolution of T63 L31 (nudged variables: surface pressure, divergence, and vorticity, temperature). The file names represent the type of the file (meanpl and meanplann, see explanation below) and the simulation (std, nompc, nofreez, freez, novtrans, vtrans, nosed, sed). More information on the simulation names can be found in the respective article (Table 1 and Methodology text). Two types of files can be found: global annual zonal means = meanpl and global annual means = meanplann. The temporal and spatial (zonal) means were created using CDO (timmean, zonmean and fldmean). The model levels were converted to pressure levels using CDO as well (ml2pl). All files contain the following variables:time, lon, lat, lev - dimensions: time, longitude, latitude, pressure levelSLFmin10(t, lat, lon) - supercooled liquid fraction in mixed-phase clouds (SLF) at -10°CSLFmin15(t, lat, lon) - supercooled liquid fraction in mixed-phase clouds (SLF) at -15°CSLFmin20(t, lat, lon) - supercooled liquid fraction in mixed-phase clouds (SLF) at -20°CSLFmin25(t, lat, lon) - supercooled liquid fraction in mixed-phase clouds (SLF) at -25°CSLFmin30(t, lat, lon) - supercooled liquid fraction in mixed-phase clouds (SLF) at -30°CSLFmin35(t, lat, lon) - supercooled liquid fraction in mixed-phase clouds (SLF) at -35°CSLFall(t, lat, lon) - supercooled liquid fraction in mixed-phase clouds (SLF)xl(t, lat, lon, z) - cloud liquid water content (LWC) in kg/kgxi(t, lat, lon, z) - cloud ice water content (IWC) in kg/kgaps(t, lat, lon) - surface pressure in Paaprl(t, lat, lon) - large scale precipitation in kg/m2/sxivi(t, lat, lon) - vertically integrated cloud ice (IWP) in kg/m2aclcov(t, lat, lon) - total cloud coverxlvi(t, lat, lon) - vertically integrated cloud water (LWP) in kg/m2CDNC(t, lat, lon, z) - cloud droplet number concentration in 1/kgICNC(t, lat, lon, z) - ice crystal number concentration in 1/kg Please refer to the article for more details.
