Analysis of the Impacts of GenAI on Introductory Programming Learning

This repository contains the supplementary materials, raw data, and analysis documents supporting the research study on the impacts of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) on introductory programming learning. The study was conducted with first-semester Computer Engineering students at the ´[OMITTED FOR BLIND REVIEW]. The dataset is derived from an interventionist practice where students performed programming challenges in Python under two conditions: with and without GenAI assistance. Content Overview: The repository is organized into the following categories: Ethical Documents: Informed Consent Forms (Termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido) for participants and guardians. Intervention Materials: Challenge Reports: The specific programming problem sets provided to students. Qualitative Data: Survey Responses: Anonymized responses from Google Forms collected after each session. Focus Group: Planning documents, transcripts/notes, and the Content Analysis (Análise de Conteúdo) categorization derived from the focus group session. Quantitative Data (Spreadsheets): Raw Data: Unprocessed metrics including completion times and error rates. Cleaned & Grouped Data: Processed datasets organized by student groups, usage patterns, and comparative performance metrics between the two days. Language Note: To preserve the authenticity of the participants' responses and the context of the analysis, all documents and raw data are maintained in their original language (Portuguese). Data Anonymization: All personal identifiers have been removed or pseudonymized to protect the privacy of the participants, in accordance with ethical research standards.
