aKinetic parameters of NIR activity of APE1 towards εA22•T and εC22•G duplexes under NIR reaction conditions. To determine KM and kcat, the linear velocity was measured and the constants were calculated using Lineweaver-Burk plots. All determinations were performed at least three times. bIC50 is the concentration of the inhibitor required for 50% inhibition of the AP site cleavage activity of APE1.
