Combined peanut shell and biochar application in dryland red soil; Raw sequence reads

Returning crop straw to the field can improve soil quality and microbial community structures. However, rapid straw decomposition leads to priming effect and increased soil mineralization. Biochar, as an inactive soil amendment, effectively mitigates soil emission and enhances soil quality. Combining straw with biochar may further enhance soil improvement but still needs verification. Thus, a one-year laboratory experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of straw combined with biochar on soil nutrient content, CO2 emission flux, and bacterial community in barren red soil.
