Review of the bacteria species and genera known to show antiviral properties in vitro

This dataset provides a list of 41 bacteria genera and more than 100 species (Tables 1 and 2) that have been tested in vitro in the laboratory between 1950 to 2024, and found to exhibit antiviral properties against a large number of viruses of human, animals and plants. This dataset is the result of a bibliographical review, which has identified 111 relevant studies published until 2024.
