The main aim of the study is to screen for antimicrobial resistance in environment using Whole genome sequencing technology. Water and sediment samples from water bodies of Puducherry, India are collected for microbiological analysis followed by sequencing to study the resistant genes and mobile genetic elements of the bacterial isolates obtained.
