Energy consumption of the German transport sector by source 2000-2022

In 2022, the primary energy source in the transport sector in Germany was fossil fuels. Around 92.8 percent of the total energy consumption in transportation came from this type of fuel. On the other hand, only 1.9 percent of the final energy consumption came from electricity.
