资源简介:
Sites 48B81438 and 488H1439 are located in the central portion of the
Big Horn Basin in north central Wyoming, in the Five Mile Creek area near
the town of Worland. Both pollen and macrofossil samples were analyzed in
conjunction with archaeological mitigation. A stratigraphic column, the
fill of four features and thirteen groundstone artifacts contribute to the
pollen record at 48BH1438. In addition, five features were sampled for
macrofloral remains. The stratigraphic pollen samples were examined to
assess local paleoenvironment. Pollen and macrofossil samples from the
features and groundstone were studied to determine subsistence activities
and define the vegetal portion of the subsistence base at sites 58BH1439 and
48BHI439. A radiocarbon are of 1390 ± 60 BP is reported for 48BH1438.
