In-vivo comparative virulence of different White Spot Syndrome Virus isolates in Penaeus vannamei and whole genome comparison analysis

To identify potential causative genes responsible for increasing virulence of WSSV, the pathogenicity of three isolates from different geographical origins (one from Sonora: ‘Sonora’, and two from Sinaloa: ‘CIAD’, and ‘Angostura’) were evaluated in vivo in white shrimp (Peneaus vannamei) infection assays. Whole WSSV genomes were deep sequenced from infected shrimp tissues and analyzed against published sequences from the GenBank database.
