Age of informal carers in the UK 2022-2023

In 2022/23, 16 percent of people aged 55 to 64 years in the United Kingdom were informal carers. This was the age group with the highest percentage of informal care providers. Overall, most informal carers in the UK were middle-aged.  Nonetheless, 8 percent of 75 to 84-year-olds were informal care providers.
