This dataset is about the measurement system analysis of a new potential ecotoxicological end-point, the peristaltic motion frequency. During the measurement of the peristaltic motion frequency, the appraiser examines the rapid response of the xenobiotics in the environment to obtain information on the repellent effect and potential risk of annelids’ active mitigation. First, the preliminary experiments were carried out to check the feasibility of the measurement system. OECD model soils and CuSO4 reference solution were putted into test vessels. The soil samples were spiked with 0, 24, 48, 60, 96, 120, 240, and 2400 mg CuSO4/kg soil. Four vessels were used for the control samples, three for the other concentration levels and five animals were placed on the soil samples in each vessel. Based on the exclusion criteria 11 individuals should be removed from the test resulting in a total of 114 observations (instead of 125). One single appraiser has made the experiments. to assess the reproducibility variance, measurements were made by three appraisers at 0, 24, 48, 96, 120 and 240 mg CuSO4/kg soil concentrations. Five vessels were used for the 0 mg/kg concentration level but only the 2nd, 3rd and 5th were evaluated because the animals in the 1st and 4th vessels were not observed at the same time. Three vessels were used for the 24-96 mg/kg concentration, and four vessels were used for the 120 and 240 mg/kg concentration levels. The appraisers performed the measurements in parallel. It should be noted that the preliminary test results are not included in these experiments. Due to the exclusion criteria 270 observations were evaluated (instead of 300). Extending the analysis by day-to-day variability, the reproducibility measurements underwent replication with a three-week interval. Thus, the arrangement of the experiments is approximately the same as in the case mentioned above: 0, 24, 48, 96 and 120 mg CuSO4 /kg soil samples were investigated, and on each level, 5-5 animals in 4-4 vessels were located. The three appraisers were the same three persons as in the first 3-appraiser's experiments.
