Parenting and Internalizing Symptoms Dataset

This dataset includes anonymized data collected from a community sample of 221 Romanian children (age M = 6.03 years, SD = 0.24) and their mothers, as part of a study on parenting strategies and early internalizing symptoms. Data were obtained through standardized instruments: the Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire (PSDQ), the Preschool Anxiety Scale (PAS), and the Behavior Assessment System for Children – Teacher Rating Scale (BASC-2 TRS). Variables include parenting dimensions (e.g., directiveness, verbal hostility), anxiety subscales (e.g., separation anxiety, obsessive-compulsive symptoms), and teacher ratings of children's emotional traits. The dataset supports analyses of the relationships between maternal parenting behaviors and internalizing symptoms in early childhood. All data have been fully anonymized in accordance with ethical approval (University of Pitești, Approval No. 608/23.06.2021).
