The zipped file contains: 1) the self-explained R script for conducting multi-scale grid sampling and calculating various CCV metrics presented in the paper, 2) the users' guide for the R code, 3) abundance of <em>D. dichotoma</em> in sampling quadrats of the Changjiang water reservoir in Zhongshan City of the Guangdong Province of China, and 4) <em>S. viridis</em> in sampling quadrats of the highland barley cropland Rikaze City of Tibet, China.
