Share of Americans who support or oppose various gun policy proposals U.S. 2023

According to a survey conducted in 2023, 88 percent of Americans were in support of preventing people with mental illnesses from purchasing guns in the United States. 50 percent also said that they supported allowing teachers or school officials to carry guns in K-12 schools.
