NRS-4539 | Copies of letters to various persons concerning Fiji

The Governor of New South Wales, Sir Hercules Robinson, acted as provisional Governor of Fiji following the cession of that country to Great Britain in 1874 until the arrival of Sir Arthur Gordon in June 1875. These letters are copies of those from the Governor's Private Secretary, Walter Hely-Hutchinson, to various persons answering questions of a rather minor nature eg. applications for appointments and pensions.There are typed copies of the letters loose in the front of the volume. These were produced in 1935 for the Fijian government along with the other despatches but were apparently not required. (4/1671). 1 vol.
