资源简介:

The Pump Station was erected by the Hydraulic Power Company in 1889 and was used to provide power for commercial and industrial purposes in Sydney. Booster stations were located at Woolloomooloo and Waterloo and sustained a network providing the power for wool-presses, wharf cranes, bank doors and early lifts, including those of the Queen Victoria Building. These plans were donated to the Council during its investigation of the hydraulic system by Elevators Pty. Ltd., which ran and owned the building until recently. (SR Plan Nos. 2938-41, X2820). 5 plans. Note: This description is extracted from Concise Guide to the State Archives of New South Wales, 3rd Edition 2000.
