RNA-seq analysis of the prefrontal cortex of adult male offspring exposed to prenatal G-CSF treatment

This study investigates transcriptomic alterations in the prefrontal cortex of adult male offspring following prenatal exposure to granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). Pregnant dams received either saline or exogenous G-CSF during gestation, and prefrontal cortex tissue was collected from 18-week-old male offspring. RNA-Seq analysis was performed on samples from saline-exposed controls (n=5) and G-CSF exposed offspring (n=5). Offspring exposed to prenatal G-CSF showed behavioral abnormalities and an incraesed proportion of immature dendritic spines, suggesting that prenatal G-CSF alters neurodevelopmental trajectories.
