In 2018, the capacity of hydro energy in the Middle East and Africa (MENA) region was the largest among renewable energy resources at about 6.9 gigawatts. The renewable energy business has been on the rise in the MENA region due to the measures taken by countries in the area to accelerate the implementation of renewable energy solutions.
