As shared bikes prevailing in cities, the carried microbial community and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) pose a potential risk human health and are increasingly raising global public concern. However, the global outbreak of COVID-19 and subsequent lockdowns have changed the usage schemes of shared bikes and consequently impacted the transmission of ARGs. This study aimed to investigate the impact of COVID-19 lockdowns on the composition of ARGs and microbial community in shared bikes and to examine whether observed impacts differed based on anthropogenic activities.
