The purpose of this research is to investigate the dynamic behavior of the mass timber floor systems in a six-story building. The research investigates responses to factors of self-weight, ramp acceleration, and actual ground motion using an Extended Three-Dimensional Analysis of Building Systems (ETABS) model. What sets this project apart is its focused examination of mass timber floor systems and their response to vertical acceleration—an area that hasn't been extensively explored. The primary audience includes structural engineering and architecture researchers, civil engineers, architects, and construction professionals interested in sustainable building materials and earthquake-resistant design sustainable construction practices.
