Supplementary sequence data: cysteine protease 5 (CP5) gDNA and cDNA clone sequences from Dientamoeba fragilis clinical isolates

This deposit contains the nucleotide sequences of cysteine protease 5 (CP5) clones generated from four clinical isolates of Dientamoeba fragilis by cloning and Sanger sequencing. Genomic DNA-derived sequences comprise 91 clones obtained from four clinical isolates, yielding 83 unique nucleotide sequences that resolved into six dominant protein isoforms, all retaining an intact cysteine protease catalytic triad. cDNA-derived sequences comprise 10 clones obtained from isolates A, E, P and V (isolate M was lost from culture prior to RNA extraction and was replaced by isolate P), identifying CP5 isoform 1 as the dominant expressed form across all isolates. These data support the findings presented in Chapter 5 of the PhD thesis "Dientamoeba fragilis: From diagnostic noise to molecular signal " (Rory Gough, University of Technology Sydney).
