Device (10) for straightening the edge (16) of a plate (12)， comprising a body (11) made of wood material， the two larger side surfaces (12a， 12b) of which are coated with a surface coating， the device (10) having a holder which defines a support surface for the plate (12)， as well as a milling unit， wherein the device (10) is designed such that the milling unit interferes with a side edge (16) of the plate (12) in order to machine it， when the plate (12) is attached to the holder， the unit comprising two milling tools (17， 18) which are arranged so that they simultaneously machine the same edge (16) of a plate (12) which， in use， is on the holder is attached， the device (10) being characterized in that it comprises a fine machining tool (19) which is designed to carry out finer machining than the milling tools (17， 18) and is positioned so that the finishing tool (19) interferes with at least the edges (20a， 20b) of the surface coatings which cover the edges (16a， 16b) of the edge (16) when the milling tools (17， 18) are in use with the edge (16 ) of the plate (12) interfere.
