Seabird Colonies 2000 from USFWS Beringian Seabird Colony Catalog
收藏资源简介:
The SEABIRD coverage represents the location, breeding, population size, and species composition for over 1,7000 known seabird colonies in Alaska. This coverage was generated from the 2000 Beringian Seabird Colony Catalog, which is a database maintained by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). The original dbase file contained these fields: Colony number: Consists of a map number and a site number. Map number (1 - 153) refers to a USGS 1:250,000 quadrangle, which is not the same as official USGS map number. A site number refers to a specific colony and is not duplicated within the quadrangle. State: Colonies located in Alaska or Russia Far East have the variable AK or RU respectively. Site name: Derived from an official name on USGS map, if one exists; otherwise a descriptive name was invented.Latitude and longitude: Describes the colony location in decimal degrees. Species codes (4 letter): These fields are bird species, listed in standard taxonomic order, observed in each colony. The data within each species field are numbers of adult breeding individuals observed.
