Bicycle commuting use intentions after the lockdown in Italy 2020

Living in a post-COVID crisis world would involve making some changes to one´s life habits. A survey conducted in May 2020 investigated whether Italians plan on choosing bikes over public transportation when commuting to work in the near future in light of contagion concerns. Out of the 220 regular bike users who were interviewed, almost half of them thought their bike use frequency to go to work would increase. 27 percent of the occasional bike users reported the same answer, while only 9.6 percent among the 366 non-bike users were inclined to give a try to this mean of transportation to reach their workplace.
