This dataset is an output of KIP INCA. It describes the use of outdoor recreation on a daily basis (requiring short distance movement to reach a recreational area).
Outdoor recreation is a cultural ecosystem service that includes all physical and intellectual interactions with biota, ecosystems, land-/seascapes.
The actual use of the service is approximated by mapping the number of potential visitors. The assessment is based on an analysis of ROS9 classes and by overlaying the ES potential and demand data (More information is available in Vallecillo et al. 2018).
Description:
Potential_visits_allyears.shp contains:
visits_00: total number of potential visits within each LAU2 in year 2000
visits_12: total number of potential visits within each LAU2 in year 2012
For mapping: visits in relative terms (per km2 of LAU2)
V_dens00: potential visits per km2 in 2000
V_dens12: potential visits per km2 in 2012
