Rethinking Networking Models to Drive More Efficient Commercialisation within the Biopharma Sectors of Small Developed Economies – A Case-Study of Australia
收藏资源简介:
This thesis examines why globally successful networking models are not being successful within Australia's biopharma sector despite its high potential and favourable policies. It shows how discovery-technologies owned by small to medium enterprises (SMEs) fail commercially due to poor funding that leads to underdeveloped intellectual properties (IPs) and overreliance on big pharmaceutical firms. The thesis presents tailored commercialisation pathways for different biopharma subsectors – traditional drugs, personalised medicine and medical devices. It also proposes policy changes to increase the academic sector's involvement. These strategies can enable biopharma sectors in small developed economies achieve sustainable commercial success without large industrial players.
