The carbonate samples were cored from the Southwest oilfield of China and Qinniang mountain outcrop, while the conglomerate samples were taken from the eastern oilfield in the South China Sea. The core plugs and extracted matrix subvolumes were imaged by a nanoVoxel-3502E X-ray three-dimensional (3D) microscope (Sanying Precision Instruments Co., Ltd., China).
