The Data of Formants of Tibetan Trilingual Learners' English Vowels Production

This dataset comprises acoustic measurements of English diphthongs produced by trilingual learners residing in the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, China. The speakers are native users of Tibetan and Chinese (L1/L2) who are learning English as a third language (L3).

The dataset includes formant trajectories (F1 and F2) and peak formant values extracted from speech recordings of English diphthongs such as /aɪ/, /eɪ/, /ɔɪ/, /aʊ/, and /oʊ/. Acoustic analysis was performed using Praat software, with careful manual annotation and validation to ensure accuracy.
This resource is designed to support research in third language acquisition, cross-linguistic influence, phonetics, and speech processing. It may also be useful for developing pedagogical tools or speech technologies tailored to multilingual learners from Tibetan-speaking communities.
