A child-centred approach to integrating immigrant children: the role of school in integration with regard to the parents’ aspect, 2023:

In the study, the author examined integration into the school environment from a child-centred perspective, with a particular focus on the relationships between schools and parents. One of the main aims was to explore different integration measures for the inclusion of migrant children in various national contexts and across different educational levels (primary and secondary schools). The research focused on parental involvement in the school environment, their understanding of integration, and children’s experiences of integration. The study included three primary schools and three secondary schools in Slovenia that had previously participated in the MiCREATE project. A total of 31 interviews were conducted with representatives of school staff from the three primary and three secondary schools. All interviews are available in ADP. In addition, the author conducted 29 interviews with pupils and students attending these schools; however, due to the sensitivity of the data, these interviews are not available in ADP.
