These 3D printable maps are shaped like the contiguous United States of America and show the paths of solar eclipses traversing the country. Each object contains a pinhole in the center that will provide safe and engaging viewing of changing solar images during stages of a solar eclipse. Sun shining through the pinhole (for example over a shoulder from the user’s back) will produce an upside-down image of the sun on the ground or other flat surface such as a piece of paper. Most pinhole image viewers prefer the balance between sharpness of focus and brightness of the image that results when the flat surface is 3-6 ft. away from the pinhole.
