Twelve purposes of plant use and their corresponding patterns of species citations unraveled by an ethnobotanical investigation

This dataset identifies plant species used for 12 purposes, namely food, firewood, medicine, building, packaging, object manufacture, hunting, cosmetics, fertilizers, repellents, spirituality, and traditional rituals. Detailed types of use for each purpose are indicated. Detailed types are also pooled into groups of uses. For each type of use, the plant species used and the number of citations for each plant species are indicated. These data were collected in the northern periphery of the Dja Reserve (Cameroon), and a total of 86 informants from 47 households were interviewed.
