Single cell RNA sequencing of lung adenocarcinoma from current smoker.

Cigarette smoking is still the number one risk factor for lung cancer. According to the report of the US CDC in 2021, current smoker and former smoker account for 36.7% and 50.8% of lung cancer patients, respectively.Adenocarcinoma became the most dominant histologic subtype of lung cancer in smokers and smoker lung adenocarcinoma, which accounts for the majority of lung cancer, differs significantly form non-smoker lung adenocarcinoma in the carcinogenesis, clinical aspects, and response to therapeutic agents.To study the carcinogenesis of smoker's lung adenocarcinoma and changes in the tumor microenvironment, lung adenocarcinoma and adjacent normal lung tissue were obtained from the patients who had smoked until time of vising to the hospital under the suspicion of lung cancer and compared and explored by single cell transcriptome analysis.
