Gap-filled monthly snow albedo over Greenland derived from MOD10A1, 2001–2020

This dataset contains monthly mean snow albedo over Greenland derived from gap-filled MOD10A1 data for 2001–2020. Temporal coverage is limited to March–October of each year; November–February are not included.The source daily snow albedo data were processed using a spatiotemporal gap-filling procedure implemented in MATLAB. Monthly mean snow albedo was then calculated from the gap-filled daily data and clipped to the Greenland boundary.This release includes only the monthly mean product. Daily data are not included.The data are provided in GeoTIFF (.tif) format and packaged in ZIP archives. They can support analyses of the spatial distribution and monthly and interannual variability of snow albedo over Greenland during March–October.Monthly means incorporate reconstructed estimates from the gap-filling procedure rather than exclusively direct satellite observations. Visible striping has been identified in an inspected source daily raster, and its cause and potential effects on the monthly product have not yet been established. Users should assess data quality before quantitative analysis and cite this dataset when using it.
