Soil microbial community response to biochar, compost, and across organic and conventional soils

This study investigates the effects of biochar, compost, and their combination on soil microbial communities, with or without the presence of the earthworm Eisenia andrei, over a 14-day incubation period. Two distinct soil types, organic and conventional, were used to assess treatment impacts. DNA was extracted from soil samples and 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing was conducted to evaluate bacterial community composition, alpha and beta diversity, and co-occurrence network structures.
