We experimentally evolved twelve replicate populations of Saccharomyces cerevisiae in the presence of gradually increasing or constant high concentrations of nickel, and found mutations in BUL1, VIP1, VTC4, and WHI2 in evolved clones isolated at the final time point of the experiment. We performed PCRs on these genes for population samples from different time points (T=25, T=50, and T=75) to elucidate mutational dynamics. The results are published in Gorter et al., 2017, Genetics.
