<p>This data collection contains a survey on family life and work in American society. The survey was conducted in November of 1980 and focused on &quot;the changing nature of the family, family life, and work.&quot; Questions deal with employment status and plans, work patterns, travel-to-work, employment practices, employee benefits, employer responsibilities, reasons for working, working wives/mothers, effects of both parents working on children/families, child care, number of children, family decision making, homemaking responsibilities, etc. Also recorded were age, religion, income, race, religion, and size-or-place. There are three divisions of the survey: a broad public sample, a leaders sample, and a teenagers sample.</p>
