本数据属于中国哺乳动物数据库一部分。中国哺乳动物具有种类多、资源丰富、特有性高、孑遗物种数量大等特点，其生态、科研、经济和文化价值极高，在中国乃至世界生物多样性中占有突出的地位。中国哺乳动物数据库依照中国动物志的编写标准收录了600种哺乳动物名录信息，100多种哺乳动物详细信息包括分类地位、分布、手绘图、照片等，为各级野生动物主管部门、濒危动物进出口管理机构、海关、公安、工商执法部门进行野生动物保护、管理和执法查验、鉴定等工作提供参考依据。

This dataset is part of the Chinese Mammal Database. Mammals in China are characterized by high species diversity, abundant resources, high endemism, and a large number of relict species. They possess extremely high ecological, scientific, economic and cultural values, and occupy a prominent position in the biodiversity of China and even the world. In accordance with the compilation standards of *Fauna Sinica*, the Chinese Mammal Database has compiled a checklist of 600 mammal species, and provides detailed information for more than 100 mammal species, including taxonomic status, distribution, hand-drawn illustrations, photographs and other relevant content. This dataset provides reference for wildlife authorities at all levels, endangered animal import and export management agencies, customs, public security, and industrial and commercial law enforcement departments to carry out work such as wildlife conservation, management, law enforcement inspection and identification.
