Data supporting the publication: Headstrong, Flagged later: Concussions and Arrest Risk Among NFL Players

This dataset links publicly documented NFL concussion injury reports (2010–2020) with publicly reported booking-based arrest outcomes (2010–2024) for 6,201 players who appeared in at least one regular-season game during 2010–2020. Variables include concussion indicators and episode counts, arrest indicators and counts, and rule-based offense-type classifications derived from USA TODAY arrest descriptions. The dataset was constructed from public sources (Pro-Football-Reference injury reports, Stathead/Sports-Reference player rosters, USA TODAY NFL arrests database) with player linkage supported by public player profile identifiers (ESPN; PFF where available).
