Unpacking Teleworking Benefits: Evidence on Mobility Demand and Carbon Emissions - Data and Code

This repository contains the data and analysis code required to reproduce the results reported in the article "Unpacking Teleworking Benefits: Evidence on Mobility Demand and Carbon Emissions", published in Sustainable Cities and Society. The repository includes the analytical dataset (RENEWAL_SCS_analytic_sample), used for all statistical analyses and provided in three formats to ensure compatibility with different statistical software: Delimited (.csv) SPSS (.sav) Stata (.dta) A detailed codebook (RENEWAL_SCS_codebook_analytic_sample) accompanies the dataset and provides a comprehensive description of all variables included in the analytical sample, including variable names, labels, coding, and statistical properties. The repository also contains the complete Stata code used to generate all analyses presented in the article (RENEWAL_SCS_code). The code is provided both as a Stata do-file (.do) and as a plain text file (.txt) to maximize accessibility and transparency. To reproduce the analyses, users only need to: Download the analytical dataset (RENEWAL_SCS_analytic_sample) and the analysis code (RENEWAL_SCS_code). Save the files in a local directory. Specify the local directory path at the beginning of the script in the section "Directory (to be entered)". Run the Stata do-file. Once executed, the script automatically reproduces all statistical analyses reported in the article. It also exports the resulting tables and the estimated coefficients used to generate the graphical representations presented in the manuscript, saving all outputs in the user-specified directory. Finally, the repository includes the emission factor catalogue (RENEWAL_SCS_emission_catalog) developed for this study. This catalogue contains the emission factors used to estimate the transport-related emissions associated with the vehicles reported by participants during the study. It is provided for documentation and transparency purposes and describes the emission calculation framework adopted in the research.
