This table contains life history data (reproductive mode, fecundity, age, size and survival) of Hydra oligactis polyps. Experimental animals belong to strains that were collected from an oxbow lake near Tiszadorogma, Hungary on four distinct dates: 31th May 2018, 1st Oct. 2018, 16th May 2019, 24th Sept. 2019. After collection, founding polyps were propagated asexually for 10 weeks on 18 degrees Celsius, then cooled to 8 degrees Celsius to induce sex and record post-reproductive survival.<br> <br>The table contains the following variables:#PolypID: unique identifier of each polyp#CollectionDate: the date when the founding polyp of the strain was collected#StrainID: unique identifier of strains established from field-collected individuals#Body_size: surface area of the body column of hydra polyps in square mm#PolypAge: age of polyps in days at the time of cooling#Buds.Warm: number of buds produced by this polyp prior to cooling#Buds.Cold: number of buds produced by this polyp after cooling#SexStart: days elapsed between the date of cooling and the first appearance of gonads#SumEggs: number of eggs produced by a female polyp#MaxTestis: max no. testes observed on a male polyp#Sex: ASEX - remained asexual after cooling asexual; M - male, produced testes; F - female, produced eggs#Survival: 1 - survived; 0 - not survived#Time: Collection batch for the founding polyp of the strain.
