VPRS 16512 Dental Technicians Licensing Committee Minutes and Papers

The Dental Technicians Licensing Committee was constituted under Part 1 of the Dental Technicians Act 1972 (No. 8287). The Act came into operation on 1/12/1974. The Committee was responsible for supervising the conduct of dental technicians and the practice of dental mechanics by dental technicians. The Committee consisted of eight members, each from a different professional body. The final meeting of the Committee was held on 14/06/2000. The Dental Practice Act 1999 (No. 26/1999) provided for a single regulatory body, the Dental Practice Board of Victoria (VA 4868), to replace the existing Dental Board, Advanced Dental Technicians Qualifications Board and Dental Technicians Licencing Committee.These records include the minutes of the committee. While the title on the volume states that these are minutes from 1984-2000, in actuality there is correspondence dating from 1984 and the minutes in the volume start at 10/7/1991. The series also includes correspondence and subject files created by the Committee.
