资源简介:
Approximately 20% of humans persistently carry Staphylococcus aureus in their nose. Evidence suggests that the basis for persistent carriage includes a host genetic component, and that the microbiota is different in carriers and non-carriers. The biological basis and interactions between the two states is unclear, but there are two alternative explanations: (a) Host genetics may directly determine S. aureus carriage by enabling S. aureus to colonize the nares, which then in turn causes a shift in the constituents of the nasal microbiota. (b) Host genetics may determine the constituents of the nasal microbiota, which then either prevent or promote S. aureus survival/persistence. This study aims to investigate the link between host genetic, nasal microbiota structure.
