In 2022, the production value of prescription drugs in Japan amounted to approximately 9.2 trillion Japanese yen. The figure has increased compared to approximately 8.4 trillion yen in the previous year. The production value of over-the-counter drugs reached nearly 754 billion yen in 2022.
