Introduction to Ecology; Correlation between hair color and gender/sex

Methods: To assess the relationship between hair color and gender, 22 human subjects were surveyed. For hair color options given, there was only red, brown, blonde and black. For gender options given, there was only male and female. Subjects picked which options best identified themselves. Study Site: Indoors at the Lumbers building at York University in a laboratory classroom;GPS 43.774732, -79.504990. There were no problems with visibility since weather was clear and lighting in the room was bright. No one's hair was covered and hair was clearly visible. All data was verbally communicated from the participants. Hypothesis: More females than males will display light hair colors (brown, red, blonde) due to the sexual selection by males that may favor light hair colors over darker hair colors. <br>Predictions: 1)The ratio of females with light hair color will be higher than the ratio of males with light hair color because of sexual selection in light hair color(brown, red, blonde) in females. 2) Females will have a larger occurrence of hair colors different from natural biological hair color because of popular personalities or personal preference.
